Bursaries
How to qualify for a bursary at Ekurhuleni TVET College
Ekurhuleni West College awards merit and indigent bursaries.
Merit Bursaries
They are awarded to students who have excelled in their field of study in their previous studies at the college.
Indigent bursaries
- Awarded to enrolled students of EWC who financial challenges.
- Bursary applications are evaluated to see the qualifying students for the bursary.
- Qualifying applications are put to Campus Management for final approval via the Student Support Officer.
- Requirements for indigent bursaries application are available from the Student Support Officer per Campus.

DHET FET Colleges Bursary Scheme
These are awarded to South African citizens only wishing to enrol for Report 191 Nated Courses and NC(V) programmes but have financial challenges or students who excel academically.
What documents are needed when applying for a bursary award
- Three certified copies of the student’s ID.
- Two certified copies of the parent’s / guardian’s certified ID.
- The latest original or certified copies of the parent’s / guardian’s pay slips.
- Sworn affidavits from parents/guardians if they are unemployed.
- Proof of death if parents/guardians are deceased.
- Proof of residential address.
Registration at Ekurhuleni West TVET College
Documents to be submitted:
- An original or certified copy of the latest school report or Senior Certificate or highest certificate or results
- An original or a certified copy of the identity document or affidavit and photograph in case of no or lost identity document or birth certificate.
- Deposit registration fees.
- Certified copy of parent’s or guardian’s identity document if under 18.
- Proof of residential address and relevant contact details.
