How to apply for  North-West University 2023 Intake 

North-West University in South Africa has opened its 2023 intake applications for the non-selection courses. Please visit the university’s website to view all non-selection courses. The university has three campuses, fifteen faculties and more than fifty schools. Its programmes range from short courses up to postgraduate degree programmes.

Here are the steps to follow when making an online application for the 2023 intake:

  1. Visit the NWU website, click on apply, and get your student number
  2. Log in to the application portal
  3. Choose a programme and complete the application form
  4. Attach your supporting documents
  5. Submit your application

Before you make an application, please read the brochure for masters and doctoral applicants carefully.

Documents which must be uploaded by applicants when making an application to North-West University

  • A certified copy of your South African ID or a passport if you are an international student
  • Your certified copies of academic transcripts and certificates from previous tertiary institutions
  • A certificate of proof of English proficiency

International Students must provide the following before the university can finalise registration. 

  • Reference letter from your previous or current university
  • An affidavit or guarantee from the bank proving that you can pay all the finances required to cover the whole period of your studies.
  • An advance proof of payment of the total amount of tuition fees
  • Upon arrival at the North West University, you must go to the International Office to get assistance regarding accommodation and study permits
  • Proof of South African medical cover for the whole period of your studies
  • SAQA certificate
  • Proof of payment of the application fee
