SANRAL is a South African state-owned company responsible for the management, maintenance and development of South Africa’s national road network.

 

SANRAL offer financial support that looks beyond the traditional scope of engineering, to encompass the overall SANRAL corporate structure.

The South African National Roads Agency SOC Ltd hereby invites suitable candidates to apply for the External Bursary for the 2023 Academic year. Funding is for full-time studies in the following areas of study:

CIVIL ENGINEERING
BSc/BEng Civil Engineering
BEng Tech Civil Engineering
MEng/PG Diploma Civil Engineering
Diploma in Civil Engineering

ELECTRONIC ENGINEERING
BSc/BEng Electronic Engineering
Diploma in Electronic Engineering

PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Advanced Diploma Supply Chain Management

HUMAN RESOURCES
BCom HR/Diploma HR
BCom Hons HR/Advanced Diploma HR

ENVIRONMENTAL SCIENCE
BSc Environmental Science

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Applications from deserving students will be considered, if minimum requirements for the bursary are fulfilled.
    • The overall selection process considers applicants who meet the minimum requirements and implementation of the Skills Development Equity plan.
    • Incomplete, unclear, and late applications will not be considered.
    • Misrepresentation of information will result in cancellation of a bursary, even if SANRAL becomes aware of it after the bursary has been awarded.
    • Applicants with ‘full cost bursaries’ are discouraged from applying.
    • The full academic record is required where the applicant is already at tertiary level (applicants applying in their second and third year, etc.).
    • Applicants in matric are required to submit their term 1 and 2 results for 2022.
    • If further information is required for verification processes, the applicant must be available to submit it.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS

Students at university need a 60% overall average.
Matriculants need a 70% overall average.
Accepted for studies that you applied for in the bursary application.
Proposed study aligned with the qualifications outlined in the application.
South African citizen.
Meet academic requirements.
Not older than 35 years.
Enrollment for full-time study.
The applicant’s financial situation will be considered.
Study must be full-time at a recognised and approved public South African tertiary institution.

 

THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION SHOULD ACCOMPANY YOUR BURSARY APPLICATION FORM:

• A comprehensive CV
• Certified copies of term 1 and 2 results if in high school or full academic record if at a tertiary institution
• Certified copy of South African identification document
• Motivational letter from the applicant
• Parents’ or guardian’s certified copy of identification document

 

WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW

  • Shortlisted candidates will be invited for interviews.
  • Successful candidates will be issued with award letters.
  • Should you not receive any correspondence from SANRAL by 31 January of the following year, you may consider your application unsuccessful
