How to apply for the Sol Plaatje University 2023 intake

The Sol Plaatje University (SPU) has opened its applications for the 2023 academic year, and no application fee is required. The university offers various undergraduate and degree programmes in its four schools of Economic & Management Sciences, Education, Humanities and Natural & Applied Sciences.

Closing dates for applying for the Sol Plaatje University 2023 intake

All applications will close on 30 November 2022.

Here are the steps to follow when making an online application to the Sol Plaatje University

  • To apply online, students must have a valid email address and use a computer/laptop with internet connectivity. You can also read the guidelines on how to apply online.
  • Visit spu.ac.za and click Apply Now.
  • You will need a computer or laptop with good internet access, do not use a phone. You must have electronic copies of your documents.
  • Click Apply to complete the application form
  • Create a pin
  • Accept the application rules and complete the application form
  • Upload the required documents
  • Submit your application

Documents required when applying to the Sol Plaatje University

  • A certified copy of your ID
  • Final Grade 11 or 12 results
  • Transcripts and diploma or degree certificates if you have previously enrolled at a college or university
  • An affidavit stating that you have attended or never attended another college or university after matric.
  • Reference letter from your previous institution of higher education

Does the Sol Plaatje University offer bursaries?

No, the university does not offer financial assistance to students in any form. Students who need financial assistance must apply directly to funders i.e NSFAS at www.nsfas.org.za.

  • Proof of income: yours or of your parents or guardians
  • SASSA confirmation letter
