How to apply for the University of Zululand 2023 intake

University of Zululand (UniZulu) is a tertiary educational institution on the northern side of the Tugela River in KwaZulu-Natal, South Africa. The university offers a range of courses in its four faculties of Commerce, Administration  & Law, Humanities & Social Sciences, Science, Agriculture & Engineering and Education.

To qualify for admission at UniZulu, you must apply through the Central Application Office at www.cao.ac.za. You must submit only one application and submit all the required documents. Do not hesitate to visit www.unizulu.ac.za, should you need more information.

Documents required when applying to the University of Zululand

You must submit certified copies of the following documents:

  • Your ID
  • Proof of residence
  • Latest results
  • National Senior Certificate
  • Firm offer letter, if applicable

International Students

You will have to submit the following additional documents:

  • SAQA certificate
  • Valid passport and study permit
  • Proof of financial means to finance your studies
  • Proof of Medical Aid

How to change programme choices at the University of Zululand after submitting applications?

You can change programmes by downloading and completing the UniZulu application forms available at www.unizulu.ac.za and submit them at Kwa-Dlangezwa campus or Richards Bay campus.

Does the University of Zululand offer student accommodation?

The university offers on-campus accommodation, but the space is limited.

Does UniZulu accommodate students with disabilities?

The University of Zululand welcomes with open hands students with disabilities. If you have a disability, kindly upload your medical report outlining the disability. Does the University of Zululand offer bursaries?

The college offers merit bursaries to first-year students who would have excelled in matric, and this bursary only covers the first year of study. If you need further financial assistance, you must apply for an NSFAS bursary directly to NSFAS at www.nsfas.org.za.
