How to apply to the Rhodes University 2023 intake

Rhodes University 2023 intake applications are now open and will close on 30 September, visit the website to apply here. The university will not consider a late submission. Rhodes University is in the Eastern Cape province and has six faculties: Law, Science, Education, Pharmacy, Humanities and Commerce. Rhodes University is open to international students.

The application fee is R100.

What should students provide when registering for the Rhodes University 2023 intake?

  • Your student number
  • A copy of your school results
  • Proof of initial fee payment clearance
  • You’ll need to email a copy of the NSFAS bursary award if you’ve been awarded one to the Fees Office before 30 January 2023.

What documents must transferring students provide when registering at Rhodes University for the 2023 intake?

  • If you are transferring from another university, you must provide your transcript and course outlines.

What documents must international students provide when registering at Rhodes University?

  • Valid study permit
  • A  passport with a visa
  • South African medical cover offered through Simeka that will be valid for the whole of 2023
  • SAQA certificate
  • Proof of Initial Fee payment by no later than 30 January 2023.
  • A-level or HIGCSE results. You will not be allowed to register until your results are out.

NSFAS Bursary

The government of South Africa has set up the NSFAS bursary scheme to help South African citizens who can not afford to pay their fees at universities and TVET colleges. You can visit www.nsfas.org.za to apply for this bursary.

What are the required documents when applying for NSFAS Bursary?

You must submit certified copies of the following approved within the last three months:

  • Your South African ID card or unabridged birth certificate if you are not yet 16 years
  • I.Ds of parents/guardians or death certificate if you are orphaned
  • Proof of income
  • A completed consent form with your parents’ or guardians’ signatures
  • A completed Disability Annexure A form if you have a disability
