How to apply to the University of Fort Hare for 2023 Intake

Are you interested in studying at the University of Fort Hare in 2023? You can start your applications now for free until 31 October 2022. The university is in the Eastern Cape Province, South Africa. It has six faculties; Health Sciences; Education; Science & Agriculture; Social Sciences & Humanities; Management & Commerce, and Law.

You can apply online here or manually by getting the application form and submitting them at the Students’ registration office. You have a maximum of two programme choices to apply. You can pay R120 if you are South African or R500 if you are an international applicant for manual applications. Also, you must upload or attach your Parent/guardian Declaration if you are a minor applicant. You can check your application status on the online application portal.

What are the minimum entry requirements to apply for the University of Fort Hare?

Undergraduate Studies

Suppose you are a South African citizen to qualify for degree programmes. In that case, you must hold a South Africa Senior Certificate (NSC) with at least passed four subjects at a rating of 4 or better. You must also have a matriculation endorsement. You can also use your matric results.

If you are a non-South African applicant, the Matriculation Board must evaluate your qualifications; go to www.hesa.org.za.

Postgraduate Studies

Admission requirements vary with programmes; you must consult your faculties directly for specific degree programme requirements. If you have non-South African qualifications, you need to have your qualifications evaluated by SAQA at www.saqa.org.za.

Does the University of Fort Hare have mature age exemption entry?

Yes, you can apply for the maturity mode of entry. You would need to have your matric results evaluated by Universities South Africa (USAf) to see whether you qualify for the maturity entry or not.

Does the University of Fort Hare have bursaries?
