What are Bursaries?

Bursaries, sometimes referred to as grants, assist selected learners who are academically talented but lack financial resources to pursue higher education. They are sponsorships given to students with financial constraints but wish to further their studies.

Some bursaries require the beneficiary to work back the finances they have completed their studies; however, some bursaries are just pure sponsorships that need nothing in return. Bursaries are different from scholarships because they support the student fully, including food, where to live and everything that involves the upkeep of the beneficiary; meanwhile, scholarships only cover the tuition fees.

Bursaries are only eligible for students who have shown an initiative in furthering their studies and also show a guarantee of success. To get a bursary, you have to apply and meet the specific requirements that different companies require to be successful.

Most companies offer bursary opportunities annually, and you have to check for them on job finding sites like vacancy mail and more.
