What does AA/EE mean?

In a bid to empower the black person and right the wrongs caused by apartheid the South African government introduced the Employment Equity Act to fulfil a constitutional mandate to ban discrimination in the workplace and encourage Affirmative Action (AA) measures. The act was noble in nature aimed at redressing prior inequalities and encouraging fairness at the workplace.

Nowadays employers use the term AA/EE vacancy to signify that the company prefers to employ a black person for the role and when you see a vacancy labelled non-AA/EE vacancy it signifies that the job can be applied by anyone, everyone has a fair chance to succeed.
